ACUTE EFFECTS OF ONE AEROBICS SESSION ON THE CHANGE OF THE MOOD STATES

The purpose of this study was to identify the acute effects of one Aerobics session on the change of the Mood States. Mood was measured by the Profile of Mood States (POMS) before and after the bout of a session of Aerobics. There were assigned 160 womens in four gyms – health clubs, in Aveiro City. The results indicated positive changes in global mood, mainly in the Tension, Anger, Depression and Vigour dimensions, indicating that the practice of this activity has beneficial emotional effects on the exercisers, increasing their health and the well-being.
