This essay deals with the theoretical basis and the process of construction, application and feasibility of a programme to enable students from 2º Ciclo - Ensino Básico - to studying methods. Recalling the achieved experience from year 1998-1999, this work refers exclusively to the sessions or topic areas focussing on the organizers of studying behaviours (time, place and materials). This year 1999-2000, we are proceeding the programme and organizing other sessions centred on the cognitive and socio-motivational dimentions of the students' learning process and performance.
