Abstract: More than ever, the increasing usage of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the Portuguese school system requires that ICT's be included in academic curricula. This implies teacher training in the ICT area and also that students be provided with examples suiteed to the development of their capabilities. In this paper we approach the theme - how to form the plural of simple words -, through the presentation of a written program in a quite easy programming language, BASIC, and through an EXCEL spreadsheet. The joint usage of the program and the spreadsheet aims at: a) the consolidation of the plural formation rules; b) the diversification of learning/teaching strategies (L/T); c) the establishement of dialogue and the development of group work.
