RESILIENCE AND DEVELOPMENTAL TASKS :EDUCATION AND LIFE-SPAN DEVELOPMENT

Abstract : This paper examines some conceptions of heuristic interpretation that have come out of developmental theories of education. Fundametal to the perpective of the representation based on concepts of resilience is a conception about interpretation of developmental tasks. A number of specific proposals are developed in connection with differents concepts that are critically examined, and it is argued that they all in various ways presupose rather than explain. The basis for this sort of pressupposition is examined in the context of a hermeneutic conception of development.
