THE IMPACT OF CLASS TIME ON THE CLASSROOMTEACHING-LEARNING DYNAMIC

Abstract : We try to find if there exist some relationship between the class times accumulation (class of 100 minutes) and the pedagogical practices teachers', nammely if in the accumulation situation the classes are more dynamic and interactive. In order the analysis, we take a check list to describe the teachers' educational practices (6th grade) from two similar schools. In one of the schools the class times are organized in 50 minutes (traditional situation) and in the second school these times are 100 minutes (new experience existing before this study). The results show a significative difference in the teachers' practices from both schools. In the accumulation times situation, teachers presented more dynamic classes, and a larger diversity and frequency of didactic equipment and other resources utilization in their classes.
